Wepa.Fm was established on October 17th, 2008. The whole concept of Wepa.Fm was originally based on a mix show started by DJ/Producer Jorge Ojeda who was a mixologist in several legendary Miami radio stations like Super Q 107.5, Rhythm 98.3 & the early years of Power 96.5 Fm. The idea of creating a radio station has always been a long time dream for Jorge Ojeda since the early 90′s, so much so that the studios where originally built for the plans of opening an FM station. His show Master Mix Sessions would later incorporate his long time friend John Ramirez (“J Cool Suave”) who helped co-host the show. The radio show would combine the interactivity of their listeners through the use of cyber space, connecting to a mass International audience. Here they would meet “EL ChiChi” Carlos Jose who was one of the original broadcasters from EL Zol 95.7 at a time when it revolutionized the Miami Hispanic market by being the first to play Salsa & Merengue 24hours a day. He also worked at other stations in Miami like 107.5 FM, 92.3 FM & 98.3 FM. In addition, they would also hook up with Eddie Alexander who has been featured on several stations for his imaging and production work. Together they made Internet radio history in 2008 when Wepa.Fm launched their official broadcast to the world on November 22nd at 8:00pm, which is powered by one of the world’s best radio networks known as 1Club.Fm/AddictedToRadio.Com.
