BUCCANEERS REVEAL ICONIC CREAMSICLE UNIFORMS

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today revealed the latest version of the iconic Creamsicle uniforms which the team will wear during its Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions on Oct. 15.  The highly anticipated return of the uniforms featuring orange, red and white as primary colors—along with the celebrated “Bucco Bruce” logo on the helmets—marks the first time in more than a decade that the team will sport its original look inspired by the inaugural 1976 season. The Buccaneers wore their Creamsicle uniforms until 1996 and then once per year from 2009-12.

The revival of the Creamsicles is part of a larger celebration of the Club as a nearly 50-year-old institution in Tampa Bay. The announcement video used to introduce the uniforms incorporates a 1970’s themed location and features current Buccaneers stars Mike EvansChris GodwinLavonte David and Antoine Winfield alongside team legends Mike AlstottDerrick Brooks, and Ronde Barber as well as nationally recognized Bucs supporters comedian Bert Kreischer and make-up entrepreneur Jaclyn Hill.

“Our fans have waited a decade to see our players back in these classic Creamsicle jerseys, and we are excited to celebrate our rich legacy when we debut these one-of-a-kind uniforms on Oct. 15th against the Detroit Lions,” said Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer Brian Ford. “As we begin this new era of Buccaneers football, we aim to honor those who have played a vital role in our Club’s journey while also appealing to a new generation of fans who will drive our future success.”

This latest iteration of the signature Creamsicle look was a collaborative effort with Nike, the NFL’s exclusive uniform provider, to create a seamless blend of form and function. The uniform features Nike’s Vapor F.U.S.E. lightweight stretch-woven fabric made from 85% recycled material. It also incorporates Nike’s Dri-FIT technology while utilizing laser perforations to allow for enhanced airflow and increased comfort.

The Creamsicle jerseys are available for purchase at shop.buccaneers.com or at the Buccaneers Team Store at Raymond James Stadium. The store is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The team has created a dedicated page on its website – click here for the Creamsicle homepage.
