The NBA has announced its All-NBA Team selections, and as expected, some of the league’s biggest names have made the cut. Headlining the first team is Joel Embiid, the recently crowned league MVP who has been nothing short of dominant this season. Along with Embiid are Boston’s Jayson Tatum and Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo at forward, and Dallas’ Luka Doncic and Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at guard.
Embiid has been the standout player of the year, and it’s no surprise that he’s been included in the first team. Tatum and Antetokounmpo have also had impressive seasons, while Doncic and Gilgeous-Alexander have shown that they are two of the most promising young talents in the league.
Moving on to the Second Team selections, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets is accompanied by Miami’s Jimmy Butler and Boston’s Jaylen Brown at forward, and Golden State’s Stephen Curry and Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell at guard. For Butler, it marks his fifth career All-NBA selection, including his third in four seasons with the Heat. Butler has been instrumental in Miami’s success this season, averaging a team-high 22.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.83 steals and 33.4 minutes while shooting a single-season career high 53.9 percent from the field.
The Third Team selections include some of the most experienced and seasoned players in the league. LeBron James headlines it, extending his league record to 19 times. James has been a consistent performer throughout his career, and this season has been no different. He has averaged 28.9 points per game, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists while shooting 50% from the field. Along with James, New York’s Julius Randle has been selected for the forward spot, and Sacramento’s De’Aaron Fox and Portland’s Damian Lillard are the guard selections.
