After suffering a lopsided loss to the Minnesota Twins in the opening game of their series on Monday night, the Miami Marlins were in dire need of a bounce back performance. And boy, did they get one!

Led by an outstanding outing from star pitcher Sandy Alcántara, the Marlins were able to shut out the only other undefeated team in the MLB this season, winning the game 1-0. Alcántara was at his best, tossing his fourth shutout in his career and allowing just three walks while striking out five. He threw 100 pitches, showing off his arm strength and control all game long.

But it wasn’t just Alcántara who had a great night on the mound. Twins pitcher Kenta Maeda also put in a solid performance, throwing for five innings with nine strikeouts while allowing only three hits, one walk, and one home run.

Despite Maeda’s solid outing, it was the Marlins who were able to capitalize on the offensive end, thanks to a homerun from Avisail Garcia during the second inning. That was the only score of the game for either team, making it a defensive battle throughout.

The win was an important one for the Marlins, who were able to bounce back from a tough loss and secure a much-needed victory against a tough opponent. However, they shouldn’t get too comfortable just yet, as the Twins will be looking to come out strong in tonight’s final matchup between the two teams, determined to redeem themselves after losing their undefeated record.

For the final game of the series, the Marlins (2-4) will be starting Jesús Luzardo on the mound, while the Twins (4-1) will be sending out Pablo López. It’s sure to be another exciting matchup between two talented teams, and fans won’t want to miss a moment of the action.
