However, it was not enough to overcome the dominant performance of the Hawks.

Trae Young led the way with his near triple-double, 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists, followed by Dejounte Murray with 18 points, Saddiq Bey with 17 points, and Clint Capela with an impressive outing on the glass, grabbing 21 rebounds.
The Heat will now go on to face the winner of the Bulls vs. Raptors play-in matchup on Friday for a chance at the 8th seed and a matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks. Meanwhile, the Hawks have clinched the 7th seed and will face the Boston Celtics.
In the end, it was a disappointing result for the Heat and their fans, who had hoped for a an immediate playoff entry. The Hawks, on the other hand, will be feeling confident heading into their matchup with the Celtics. With their impressive performance against the Heat, they have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs.
